Chief Executive Officer of SAGE Labs and as a General Partner at Cultivation Capital Life Sciences Fund. David served in various leadership roles at Sigma-Aldrich, including Chief Scientific Officer, President of Research Biotech Business Unit, and Vice President of Research and Development. Previously, David was President and Chief Executive Officer at ProteoPlex, a company he founded in 2001 and led through its product development and final acquisition. In 1992, Dave founded Genome Systems, which provided the scientific community with access to genome project-related technologies, and was acquired in 1996 by the Incyte Corporation. He joined Incyte as Vice President eventually becoming Senior Vice President and leader of the St. Louis organization growing the staff to more than 250 people. David earned a Doctorate degree in Molecular Biology and a Bachelor’s degree in Biology from Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. Dave completed a postdoctoral fellowship from Washington University in the Drosophila Genome project and a postdoctoral fellowship at Monsanto Corporation.
